Setup a New GSuite Account

Follow these instructions in order to set-up a new GSuite account for team members, and to get their e-mail functioning properly.

If a new person is holding a core role within the organization, then they will need a personalized e-mail address in the format of: firstname@buddhistgeeks.org

Setting up E-mail Forwarding

For simplicities sake, most people want their "name@buddhistgeeks.org" address to forward to a personal address. Follow these steps to set-up e-mail forwarding from their new account:

  1. Login to GSuite with the newly created account info

  2. Select the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab

  3. Click the "Add a forwarding address" button

  4. Type in the new team member's preferred personal e-mail address and click "Next"

  5. Click "Proceed"

They will need to confirm this new forwarding situation by clicking a link that's sent to their forwarding address.

Send an email from your Buddhist Geeks alias in Gmail

  • Click on "GSuite" and then Manage your Google Account

  • Go to the "Security" tab on the account page and scroll down to the "less secure app access."

  • Turn on access

  • Toggle ON Less secure app access

  • All done!

Add an Email Alias

Depending on which personal e-mail service one is using, there are different instructions for setting up an Email Alias. An Email Alias simply means that you'd be able to send e-mails from your personal mail client as "name@buddhistgeeks.org". By following these instructions you can set-up an e-mail alias:
